Remembering Our Victims of 9/11

The Hanson family was among the many victims on board a plane that crashed into the World Trade Center Sept. 11. Sue Kim Hanson was a SPHS graduate.

Sue Kim Hanson boarded a plane from Boston to Los Angeles with her husband, Peter Burton Hanson, and 2-year-old daughter, Christine Lee, on Sept. 11 2001.

Their plane was the second to crash into the World Trade Center that day killing all 65 on board; Christine Lee was the youngest of those victims.

"Peter, I still feel the terrible pain that went through my whole being when Dad, holding the phone, heard your last words," Eunice Hanson wrote to her son and his family after their death. "... The thought of the three of you in each other's arms in that final moment will never leave me."
