South Pas Masons Honor Student Writers

The South Pasadena Masons presented awards to student essay winners at the 93rd Annual Public Schools Day.

Members of the Masonic Lodge in South Pasadena recently judged an essay contest for elementary, middle and high school students.

On Saturday, at their annual Public Schools Day, winners from each category received an award. These are the winners:  

South Pasadena High School: Bryan Bednarski, first place, Corinne Marangi, second place, Michelle Matos, third place and Tiffany Diep, honorable mention.

South Pasadena Middle School: Eileen Cheng, first place, Faye Witherall, second place, Nour Mallat, third place and Joshua Ramos, honorable mention.

Elementary Schools: Madeleine Yoo, first place, Evan Kowal, second place and Max English, third place.

The younger grade elementary school winners in the coloring contest were Brandon Woo, first grade, Kaima Fong, second grade, Julia Rose Shadmon, third grade and a tie for fourth grade: Brandon L. Sabo & Hye Won Rhee. 

Principals from the schools, teachers and Superintendent Joel Shapiro were in attendance.
