South Pas Resident Wins Emmy

Kaz Aizawa has been awarded for his work on the Nickelodeon cartoon T.U.F.F. Puppy.

South Pasadena resident Kaz Aizawa has won an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation in the Nickelodeon cartoon T.U.F.F. Puppy

After being selected by Nickelodeon as one of its 2011 artists to submit work, Aizawa choose the episode "Toast of Tuff: Bread Dog," because he felt it was his strongest, according to Aizawa's wife, Kari. 

"We knew he was up, but we didn't expect him to win, because it's so competitive," she said. "When he got the call last week, he was pleasantly surprised."

Aizawa has worked for Nickelodeon since 2005. Having lived in South Pas since early 2009, his son is now a student at . 

"He doesn't watch a lot of TV," said Kari of her son's TV habits. "But he loves the show."
