Suspect Jumps from Second-Floor Window in Residential Burglary

South Pasadena Police reported the following crimes this week. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Suspects in two burglaries, one day apart and within a few blocks of each other, showed some athletic maneuvers as they hurried to get away this week.

On Monday, at about 3:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of Huntington Drive, a witness saw an unidentified man jump over the wall of an apartment complex and enter an opened garage, according to a crime bulletin from the South Pasadena Police Department. The man finagled his way into the resident's locked cabinet, but failed to steal anything.

The suspect was described as a man, 17-18 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build, with brown hair, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with long straps and jeans.

Then, on Tuesday, just a few streets away in the 1500 block of Meridian Avenue, an unidentified man smashed a window at a resident's home, sometime between 1-2:30 p.m. The victim had returned home just in time to see the suspect jump from the second-floor window and run away.

At the time of the report, the resident did not know whether any items were missing.
