Update: Water System Restored

All areas of the City should have water—according to the City—except those living on the north side of Mission Street between Arroyo Drive and Forest Lane (300-400 block) due to a water main break being repaired in that area.

While South Pasadena's water system has now been restored to normal operation, residents may experience slight discoloration in their water Thursday due to opened valves and interconnects, reports South Pasadena Public Works Department.

"Water quality standards are fully met and anyone experiencing any discoloration should simply let the water run for a few minutes until it is clear," explained Deputy Public Works Director Shin Furukawa.

Because the Wilson Reservoir is still without power, residents will notice pressure slightly lower than normal.

"At no time did the City lose water service. There was a point very early this morning where the water levels in the two elevated tanks ran low, but the tanks were refilled once we opened up interconnection lines with Pasadena and MWD," said Furukawa.
