Election Day, Design Review Board, Tax-Free Wines

1. City Council and School Board elections

Elections for two seats on the South Pasadena City Council are scheduled today, Tuesday, Nov. 5, along with elections to the South Pasadena Unified School District Board as well as for the offices of City Treasurer and City Clerk. The polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Votes may be cast at polling places whose locations can be found on the back of the Official Sample Ballot booklet mailed to all registered voters. 2. Design Review Board meeting

The City of South Pasadena Design Review Board is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room at City Hall, 1424 Mission St., (626) 403-7227.

3. Mission Wines Tax-Free Tuesday

4. City Council meeting

Mark your calendars: The South Pasadena City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Amedee O. 5. Evening with comic book artist Arlen Schumer

Mark your calendars: Arlen Schumer, the celebrated, award-winning comic book-styled illustrator and a leading historian of comic book art, is scheduled to make a special appearance at the South Pasadena Library Community Room at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7. This is a rare opportunity to meet and hear one of the foremost talents in the comic book world. The community room is located at 1115 El Centro St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. No tickets or reservations are necessary.
