Family Storytime, Design Review Board meeting

Here's what's happening in town.

1. Family Storytime

The South Pasadena Public Library is offering half an hour of storytime for children in a group setting tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the library's children's section from 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Perfectly timed for kids's short attention spans, the event features age-appropriate stories read aloud in addition to fingerplays, songs, flannelboard stories, book-related videos and crafts.

2. Design Review Board meeting

The South Pasadena Design Review Board is scheduled to meet today, Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room at City Hall, 1424 Mission St., (626) 403-7227.

3. Walk or Bike to School Day

Mark your calendars: The 10th Annual Walk or Bike to School Day is tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 2. Organized by the City of South Pasadena Community Services Department in an effort to promote good health, better air quality and safer routes for pedestrians and bicyclists, the event is part of International Walk to School Month. For more information, contact the city's Recreation Division at (626) 403-7380.

4. City Council meeting


Mark your calendars: The South Pasadena City Council is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Amedee O. 5. City Council candidates forum

Mark your calendars: A public forum to meet and ask question of candidates for the Nov. 5 South Pasadena City Council elections is scheduled on Thursday, Oct. 3, starting at 7 p.m. in the Amedee O. "Dick" Richards, Jr., Council Chambers at City Hall, 1424 Mission St.
