'Halloween' Screening, Theater of Terror, Farmers' Market

1. Screening of Halloween

The original 1978 classic film Halloween, filmed in South Pasadena and directed by John Carpenter, in whose honor the South Pasadena City Council recently declared Oct. 31 John Carpenter Night, will be screened today, Thursday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m., in the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room. This is the film's 35th anniversary and tickets are $10 each—all proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library and the sCARE Foundation. Click here to purchase tickets. 2. Theater of Terror

This is the last weekend to see the Theater of Terror at the Fremont Center Theater, located at 1000 Fremont Ave. The theater has been turned into a haunted house, and the result is the “most terrifying haunt of the season,” according to the theater website. The show ends on Saturday, Nov. 2, and can be seen any day until then from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the South Pasadena Arts Council. Tickets are $12 at the door and $10 online.

3. Farmers' Market

Mark your calendars: The weekly South Pasadena Farmers' Market will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, at and around the intersection of El Centro Street and Meridian from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come and get your fresh produce and other goodies for the week.
