Preservation Awards for Library & Middle School, Farmers Market

1. Preservation Award for South Pasadena Public Library and South Pasadena Middle School

The South Pasadena Public Library is scheduled to receive a Preservation Award from the South Pasadena Cultural Heritage Commission and the South Pasadena Preservation Foundation for the restoration and installation project for “The Children’s Hour” artwork by Merrell Gage today, Thursday, Nov. 21, at 6:45 p.m. at the Amedee O. “Dick” Richards City Council Chambers. South Pasadena Middle School will also be receiving a Preservation Award during the ceremony.

2. Farmers Market

The weekly South Pasadena Farmers Market will be held today, Thursday, Nov. 21, at and around the intersection of El Centro Street and Meridian from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come and get your fresh produce and other goodies for the week. 

3. Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library Holiday Book Sale

Mark your calendars: The Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library is kicking off its annual Holiday Book Sale on Friday, Nov. 22, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Library Community Room located at 1115 El Centro St. This will be the sale's preview night only for members of the Friends of the Library, so if you are not a member and want to get the earliest possible chance to purchase gift-quality books, you can buy a membership at the door. The sale will continue on Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., following which, starting Monday, the books will be moved to the main floor of the library until the end of December.
