Walk or Bike to School Day, City Council Meeting

1. Walk or Bike to School Day

The 10th Annual Walk or Bike to School Day is today, Wednesday, Oct. 2. Organized by the City of South Pasadena Community Services Department in an effort to promote good health, better air quality and safer routes for pedestrians and bicyclists, the event is part of International Walk to School Month. South Pasadena Unified School District students in grades K-8 who walk or bike to school in the morning will be greeted by South Pasadena Youth Commissioners and presented with a reward for their participation. For more information, contact the city's Recreation Division at (626) 403-7380.

2. City Council meeting


The South Pasadena City Council is scheduled to meet today, Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Amedee O. "Dick" Richards, Jr., Council Chambers at City Hall, 1424 Mission St., starting at 7:30 p.m. (626) 403-7227. To view the agenda for the meeting and watch it being streamed live online, click here.

3. City Council candidates forum

Mark your calendars: A public forum to meet and ask question of candidates for the Nov. 5 South Pasadena City Council elections is scheduled tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 3, starting at 7 p.m. in the Amedee O. "Dick" Richards, Jr., Council Chambers at City Hall, 1424 Mission St.
