Water Issues, Breakfast Meeting, William Holden Tribute

The Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District is scheduled to give a presentation before the City of South Pasadena Natural Resources and Environmental Commission on Tuesday, Sept. 24, starting at 7 p.m. The water district is expected to present an overview of the water situation across the region and explain the dynamics behind the ever-changing supply and cost of water. The meeting is scheduled in the City Council Chambers at 1424 Mission St. 

2. Breakfast meeting with L.A. County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich

Mark your calendars: Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich is scheduled to meet with the South Pasadena City Council over breakfast on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 8 a.m. at the Arroyo Seco Golf Course, located at 1055 Lohman Lane in South Pasadena. This is a periodically scheduled meeting between the city council and the county supervisor—the most recent one was in 2010. Issues of mutual interest are expected to be discussed during the meeting, which generally lasts about an hour. The meeting is open to the public, including for public comment.

3. Sunset Boulevard screening—and William Holden tribute

Mark your calendars: The Oscar-winning 1950 noir film Sunset Boulevard will be screened at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room, located at 1115 El Centro St. The film has a special place in South Pasadena history because its lead star, William Holden, grew up in South Pas and attended South Pasadena High School.
