Local students honored

The dining room was decorated and essays judged days before the big event on Saturday, April 26, when the South Pasadena Masonic Lodge held their annual Public Schools Event. SPHS and SPMS students were awarded hundreds of dollars for placing in the essay contest. First place was Nour Mallat, $300, second Andrew Shults, $200 and third place went to Brooke Drury, $125 in the HS portion of the event and a special award went to Jennifer Orr for the Virtual Business group.
In the Middle School contest 1st place was a tie, and went to Jio Park & Joshua Ramos. 2nd place to Caroline Choi and 3rd place to Kate Ba.
