The Shops at Montebello Announces New Marketing Director

As The Shops at Montebello’s new Director of Marketing and Business Development, Marida Petitjean has a vision of creating a shopping destination environment that is both inviting and exciting.

“My goal is to create an atmosphere where shoppers come in on a Monday and still want to return that Friday,” said Petitjean, an Ohio native and longtime resident of Los Angeles. “We want our shoppers to have a great experience when they come to our center.”

Petitjean began her work with Simon Property Group’s (NYSE: SPG) Shops at Montebello in mid-December 2013, and will be responsible for marketing, events, local media relations and business development efforts. Additionally, she will act as a key liaison for various community organizations, managing marketing, customer relations and media efforts.

In her role, Petitjean will work to enhance the overall shopping experience in her market while striving to improve marketing ventures.

Petitjean came to Simon after four years with Verizon FiOS in their television cable advertising department. Previously, she worked with Radio Disney as an advertising account executive. She also spent a number of years in radio marketing, serving various roles ranging from promotions director to director of marketing and marketing consultant at stations including WCOL in Ohio and KZLA and KOLA 99.9 in California.

As Director of Marketing and Business Development at The Shops at Montebello, Petitjean looks forward to tailoring events, activities and experiences to the needs of the community, and communicating with shoppers and tenants alike to learn what the center can do to keep the shopping experience exciting.

“Being accessible and approachable to the community, local business leaders and local nonprofit partners, is key, and that is what I plan to do here at The Shops at Montebello,” said Petitjean.

Petitjean, 49, graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s degree in economics.
