August 13th Blood Drive: Recycle You

Here's one good deed that will leave you feeling bloody marvelous. South Pasadena 's City Clerk Sally Kilby provides the following information.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2013, the Huntington Hospital Bloodmobile will be parked adjacent to the South Pasadena Fire Department at the corner of Hope Street and Mound Avenue from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In less than an hour, donors can recycle a bit of themselves, and in exchange for a pint, they will receive coupons for Gus’s BBQ; Mamma’s Brick Oven Pizza and Pasta; Baskin Robbins; or Canoe House.

Huntington Memorial Hospital is the only trauma center in the San Gabriel Valley ... The hospital, which was ranked #10 in California in a recent U.S. News and World Report survey, had 59,473 emergency room visits, and uses 17,000 blood products each year. Blood donations are lowest during summer months.
