Expect Delays On Gold Line Saturday

Problems with overhead trolley lines caused delays on Metro's Gold Line passenger trains between Los Angeles and Pasadena Saturday.

One of the tandem tracks was taken out of service at midmorning between the Mission Station in South Pasadena and the Southwest Museum station in Highland Park, Metro spokesman Rick Jager told City News Service.

Because of the single-track operation, passengers heading in either direction needed to change trains and cross platforms at the Southwest Museum station.

Delays of between 15 to 20 minutes were reported, and agents were at the station to assist passengers, Jager said.

Crews expected to have the problem fixed by mid-afternoon, Jager said. Service south of the affected area, including the Gold Line extension from Union Station to East Los Angeles, was not affected.
