Get Out: Fun Events for Kids

Take a trip back in time at the Museum of the American West at Griffith Park (4700 Heritage Way) in nearby Los Angeles this weekend. Kids get a chance to learn about the California Gold Rush while panning for gold. The event takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Make your kids' Saturday morning magical at the , (87 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.). Every week at 11 a.m., the playhouse offers an exciting rendition of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. General admission is $18, and children 12 and under are $12.

Every Saturday, Arcadia’s (301 N. Baldwin Ave.) has a new adventure planned for guests. This event, geared toward children, is fun for the whole family. This Saturday, a guide will take patrons on a scavenger hunt through the Aboretum. Space is limited to 25 participants, so come early! The adventure takes place from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is free with admission.

On Sunday, September 4, check out the Pasadena City College Flea Market. This monthly event boasts food, drink, furniture, jewelry, art, household items, collectibles, records and more. Admission is free, and parking is $2. The Flea Market takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.
