Library's Tree Tops Get a Trim
If you wondered what all that noise was on El Centro, the trees of the South Pasadena Library were getting a little sprucing Tuesday.
Ordinarily a tranquil spot for readers, picnickers and children crawling about the Moreton Bay Fig tree's trunk-sized roots, the lawn at the South Pasadena Library was all abuzz Tuesday afternoon.
Crews roped off a perimeter of the sprawling lawn to trim back multiple tree tops, and tossed all of the branches and foliage into the wood chipper, a noise that reverberated for blocks down El Centro Avenue.
