Male Driver Reportedly Followed Young Girls

Police searching for alleged suspect, seek public's help.

Two young girls alleged they were followed Thursday afternoon by a man in a blue van along Monterey Road.

The incident was reported Sept. 27 around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey Road and Orange Grove Avenue. A man in a full-sized, navy blue SUV allegedly pulled up alongside the girls and motioned them to enter his van. The girls ignored the suspect and ran back towards Orange Grove and hid behind some bushes.

The suspect did not say anything to the victims.

The girls, both 11 years old, had been on foot walking with two other young female friends. The two victims split up with their friends and walked into the intersection while the other girls went a different direction.

The suspect is described as a white, or Hispanic man, 40 years old, heavy set, with short-cropped, balding hair. He wore a blue Hawaiian shirt.
