We are two single moms living in South Pasadena, supporting our families and “slinging hash” as best we can. Our articles tell real life stories—ours, others’ and perhaps even yours—of survival and success as single moms in the trenches while providing a forum for sharing information and resources. 

is the co-director/co-founder of The Pasadena Writing Project and president of iMindsPR in Old Pasadena. The mother of a now 15-year-old boy, she recalls her trepidations upon moving to South Pas in her latest article "."

"I was afraid of being seen as the “riff-raff,” but I was comforted by the fact that the majority of South Pas residents rent. According to the AOL Real Estate site: 55 percent," she wrote.

A freelance writer and editor primarily for clients in the entertainment industry, Scrivner shares her journey to South Pas 16 years ago in "
