One Day Before School Starts -- Make It Count

It's National Golf Month. No, really, it is. And you can celebrate at the Arroyo Seco golf course, either in miniature, or with the big boys and girls on the Par-3.

It's also National Friendship Week. Grab a friend and take the Gold Line, one way or the other:

North-- Go museum-hopping in Pasadena. How long has it been since you've visited the Norton Simon or the Pacific Asia?
South -- Within Olvera Street, you can find the Avila Adobe. Built in 1818, it is the oldest residence in LA still standing. Also, the Sepulveda House, a 22-room Victorian house built in 1887, it's now the home of the Plaza District's Visitors' Center

And finally, it's National Picnic Week, and there's no place prettier than Garfield Park.  Pack a lunch and take a Frisbee. Bring your grandparents -- it's National Senior Citizens Day.
