Patch Editors Finalists in L.A. Press Club Awards

Coverage of the 2011 windstorm earned Patch editors in the San Gabriel Valley and Northeast L.A. a nomination in the 54th Annual Southern California Journalism Awards.

The San Gabriel Valley and Northeast Los Angeles cluster of Patch sites has been named a finalist in the L.A. Press Club's 54th So Cal Journalism Awards in the category Online News for its coverage of the San Gabriel Valley windstorms on Nov. 30 ("Breaking News Coverage of San Gabriel Valley Storm, Nov 30.")

Finalists include:

The L.A. Press Club Awards is the largest media contest in Southern California and drew more than 700 entries this year—100+ more than last year.

An Awards Gala will be held for finalists June 24 at the Millennium Biltmore hotel.

Like some of the others, I wasn't as aware of Monrovia ongoings til Nathan took the Steering Wheel of The Patch and drives the news right home daily. This is a great service, and the award nom is well deserved!
