PHOTOS: A Night of Dancing and Dinner

Community members mingled at South Pasadena Chinese-American Club's (SPCC) annual dinner dance Friday night.

More than 230 community members attended the South Pasadena Chinese-American Club's (SPCC) annual dinner dance May 20 at New Capital Seafood in San Gabriel. Community members enjoyed an elaborate Chinese banquet, entertainment, dancing and karaoke. The event raised about $17,000 for SPCC'S educational and cultural programs including scholarships for high school seniors and grants to all five public schools. 

Community leaders attending the event included Mayor Mike Ten, City Council members Philip C. Putnam and Michael A. Cacciotti as well as Police Chief Joseph Payne. School officials attending included David Adelstein and Joseph Loo (who is also an SPCC Board Member), School Superintendent Joel Shapiro, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Scott Price, Principal of South Pasadena High School Janet Anderson, and Principal of Kim Sinclair. Teresa Lamb Simpson, Representative of Congressman Adam B. Schiff, brought greetings from the Congressman.
