Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday March 2 by sharing your favorite books with others in South Pas for Read Across America day.

A touching memoir of the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII, author Jeanne Houston will answer questions about her novel before a screening of the "Farewell to Manzanar" full-length film.

Also as a part of Read Across America Day, the California Teachers Association has selected two books, “Gaaby and Gator”, a graphic novel by James Burks about friendship, bullying and being accepted for who you are, and “Boris Ate a Thesaurus”, by Neil Klayman and Barry Chung, about a boy who eats a thesaurus.

This year, the National Education Association, a group of more than 3.2 million educators who work to improve public schools, and several literacy and youth groups, are calling on book lovers around the nation to take up The Lorax, the popular Dr. Seuss children's book published in 1971 about the lovable creature who fights to save the environment.
