SoCal Edison Warns of Possible Wind Related Outages

The agency wants you to know how you can help them keep track of unplanned outages, since freezing temperatures are in the forecast for many areas across the Southland.

As freezing temperatures and strong winds are forecast for much of the region, Southern California Edison is reminding customers of ways they can report unplanned outages.

Outages are expected because of a Santa Ana wind event forecast through Tuesday and possibly Wednesday and the freeze warning and frost advisory that has been issued through Tuesday morning.

"SCE is preparing for this wind event and the possibility of unplanned outages in your community," an alert from the agency said Monday night.

You can report any unplanned outages on Facebook and Twitter, via the mobile "SCE Outages" application, online at www.sce.com/outages or by calling (800) 655-4555.

Edison also reminded customers to be careful when using portable heaters and electric blankets during the extreme cold forecast for the next two days.
