South Pasadena San Marino YMCA Extends Pool Closure For Repairs

The pool's reopening has been pushed to January 27 as ordered by the city for additional pipe repairs.

A routine maintenance and cleaning of the South Pasadena San Marino YMCA pool over the holidays revealed a leaky pipe, resulting in more repairs than expected. Program Director Stephanie Yuen said the original January 20 reopening date has been pushed back to January 27, as ordered by the city to ensure that all repairs are properly carried out.

“It’s unfortunate to have to keep the pool closed for an extended period of time, but it’s good that it happened while the pool was drained. It’s a blessing in disguise,” Yuen said.

Yuen encourages members to take advantage of other exercise classes while the pool is being repaired. Members who still wish to swim may visit the West San Gabriel YMCA in Alhambra.
