Video: Holy Family Church's Mission to Haiti

The Catholic church, and the Rotary Club of South Pasadena, are helping Haitian villages as residents continue to recover from the 2010 earthquake.

Holy Family Church recently sent a parish delegation to Haiti to help villagers improve their access to education, health and nutrition.

In this 9-minute You Tube video, parishoners show images across the emotional spectrum - from poverty and desperation to energy and determination.

With the Rotary Club of South Pasadena, the church delegation has helped villagers create a 10-acre mango plantation. The land has been cleared and tilled, and two wells dug. Mango seedlings have been grafted onto health mango branches, which should produce a crop in two years, rather than six or seven. Eventually, the fruit will be exported to the United States to bring capital back in to Haiti.
