Scenes from around town from the past week include: football legend and Hall of Famer Joe Montana shooting a commercial at ; continuation of construction work on Fair Oaks Avenue; a Valentine's Day bicyclist with flowers for his lady; a weekend ritual in South Pasadena: fundraising yard sales to benefit various organizations; a  group of seniors taking a bus for a gambling excursion to a casino; rain causing a freeway traffic jam; Jan Arenz, a longtime community volunteer who organized and runs the food locker  at , tutors students at the (although she has no kids there), sings in her choir and volunteers at numerous other causes; the SPHS girls soccer team  being honored during their last home game of the season; a couple talking to their daughter, who is a SPHS grad and teaching in Cairo during the recent uprising.
