Don't Miss Sunday's Car Shows and Police and Fire Open House

Whether you're into clean energy vehicles or muscle car mania, there's something sure to snare your attention in South Pasadena Sunday.

Unless you've been living in a cave for the last couple of months, you probably know that Sunday features a gaggle of goings-on in South Pasadena.

What you may not know is for the first time, the Clean-Air Car Show/Green-Living Expo, the Cruz’n For Roses Car Show and the South Pasadena Police and Fire Open House will all be held simultaneously Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All events will take place in the heart of the city along Mission Street. The events are free, and the entire community is invited. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase.

The Eighth Annual Cruz’n for Roses Hot Rod & Classic Car Show, which benefits the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Committee to defray costs of constructing the 2013 City float will feature some 400 cars, according to a press relase from the City of South Pasadena.

Trophies will be awarded to vehicles in all categories.

The Clean-Air Car Show & Green-Living Expo, which is sponsored by the City in partnership with the South Coast Air Quality Management District, will take place at the parking lot, with the entrance on Fairview Avenue, off Mission Street. Featured will be next-generation technology vehicles and green-living exhibitors, highlighting the importance of energy-saving practices.

The andOpen House, which will take place at 1422 Mission St. This event will feature a fly-over, safety information, vendor displays, giveaways (kids get a free South Pas Police Department t- shirt), demonstrations involving police canines and fire officials putting out car fires, and tours of the police department.
