Get Out: From Brunch to Nature

Patch has the scoop on everything going down this weekend—a nature walk, theater, brunch and more!

Sunshine! Trees! Birds! Fresh air! That's what you'll get Saturday morning in Eaton Canyon for the wekly nature watlk. At 9 a.m., walkers meet at 1750 N. Altadena Dr. in Pasadena for this free jaunt through nature. How idyllic!

In nearby Arcadia, the (301 N. Baldwin Ave.) is offering an introductory class to permaculture from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Learn to create a food forest in your own backyard through both lecture and hands-on demonstrations. Participants can get questions answered, and take a seedball home at the end of the class. Registration is recommended; call 626-821-4623 or email jill.berry@arboretum.org to register. The cost is $28 for non-members and $25 for members.

On Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., nearby Pasadena will host its weekend Farmer's Market. Vendors sell fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables, eggs, fish and pasture-grazed meats. Live plants and cut flowers are also regularly available. The market also offers prepared foods, such as baked goods, breads, Mediterranean foods, nuts, and a Mexican food cart preparing hot meals. Sounds like fun! Check it out at the intersection of N. Sierra Madre Blvd. & Paloma St.

The  (87 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.) presents The Yeomen of the Guard at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Tickets are $25. The show runs through September 24.
