Have You Read 'The Goddess Lounge'?

Written by local Margaret Finnegan, the book is about finding independence in the midst of motherhood.

Former Patch columnist and South Pas resident Margaret Finnegan recently released a novel: The Goddess Lounge.

You may of read about it via her interview with Patch.

Hometown Pasadena reviewed the book last week. Petrea Burchard writes: "You don’t have to be familiar with Homer to laugh your way through Finnegan’s tale, but if you’re an Odyssey scholar (as is Finnegan), you’ll find her book spilling over with treasure."

The novel is about, "wanting to be the best mother I can be but also wanting to own my own life," says Finnegan.

The Goddess Lounge is available on Amazon and at Vroman’s in Pasadena. Her website can be found here, and you can visit her blog at Finnegan Begin Again.

Patch Asks: Are you familiar with Finnegan's work? Have you read The Goddess Lounge?

Looking forward to reading this. Nice to read something from a neighboring author. I recently published a childrens book called Maylaya creations of the Goddess an American Fairy Tale. Avaliable online at Barnes and Noble and Amazon. I am a widow and mother maybe reading this will five me some pointers on how to be me again. Love the cover. On my way to bookstore this afternoon. I have a feeling there are a lot of writers here in south pasadena wish we could all get together. If there are any meetings like this or cool bookclubs please let. Me know via this blog. I recently moved here from Toluca Lakes and would love to meet not only this writer but others as well. A writers world is isolating. Let me know what's around for us to get to know one another.

The San Gabriel Valley is lush with authors, writers groups, etc. Deborah, you might take a look at the Alameda Writers Group to start. Just check out their website and see if there's anything interesting for you, then stop by a meeting. http://alamedawritersgroup.ning.com/
