Library Bookstore to Host 30th Anniversary Party

'Where the Wild Things Are' posters and dolls will be auctioned at the party.

will host its 30th anniversary party 7 p.m. Tuesday (July 31) in the .  

Auction items will include:

  • A framed, autographed poster of the recently deceased world-famous author Ray Bradbury.
  • A portfolio of posters by the late children's author Maurice Sendak, accompanied by two 18-inch cloth dolls of characters from Where the Wild Things Are. (See to your right.) 
  • A framed watercolor of South Pasadena palms by the late artist Zolita Sverdlove, donated by her husband Dr. Donald Rapp.
  • A black-and-white framed poster of the legendary Jazz singer Billie Holiday by South Pasadena artist Valerio Ventura.
  • A first edition of The French Chef's Cookbook, published in 1968 by Alfred Knopf and inscribed 'Bon Appetit' by Julia Child.
