Photo Gallery: Garden Tour & Plant Swap

Fountains, artichoke plants and raised veggie beds were all a part of this year's annual garden walk.

Residents enjoyed the sunny weather and mature nature South Pas has to offer at the forty-first annual Garden Tour and Plant Swap hosted by the nonprofit South Pasadena Beautiful this weekend.

Paul Norlen's home, 2015 Mission St., was among the many included in the tour. With a range of drought-tolerant plantings and permeable rock walkways, Norlen's work was a great example of sustainable, low-water gardening.

Other homes on the tour had more formal-type gardens but still demonstrated a strong use of permeable rock walkways, which allow water to seep back into the ground rather than run off into the sewers.

Raised veggie beds were also prevalent in a majority of the gardens. Overall, the tour was filled with great color and tons of native plantings.
