Billy Childs and Son Share Passion for Jazz (Video)

Billy Childs' jazz career has taken him from Japan to Poland, across the United States and elsewhere. He's been nominated for ten Grammy Awards, and won three including one this year for Best Instrumental Composition from his latest album Autumn: In Moving Pictures.

Though Childs is often on the road touring, he always comes back to his home in South Pasadena: A town he says has a great school district, as well as shops and neighbors.

And now Jazz afficionados can rejoice: Billy Childs will play a free concert at the Levitt Pavilion Pasadena Saturday at 8 p.m.

Childs' love of music was not lost on his children; his eldest son, Aaron, is a musician in his own right. A graduate, Aaron is studying music at the University of Southern California, and formed his own band.

Billy is an ardent supporter of his son's music. In fact, at some of Aaron's concerts around town, Billy can be spotted playing keyboards with the band.
