South Pas Singer Shoots for the Big Time on NBC's 'The Voice'

'The Voice' Contestant Judith Hill, 28, tries to prove she's a voice to be reckoned with on the reality singing competition.

South Pasadena singer and songwriter Judith Hill, 28, has had brushes with greatness, but as a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice,” she has a chance to take her career to another level.

Before she became a contestant on the show, Hill was chosen to tour with Michael Jackson in his “This is It” tour as the lead female vocalist before his death in 2009, according to a story in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

The Biola University grad is considered one of the frontrunners on the show after the show’s judges praised her audition performance of Christina Aguilera’s “What a Girl Wants.”

"It's sort of my first time on television as a solo artist doing my own thing and I'm really excited for the transition," Hill said. "I'm also a little scared because it's a very intense show and everyone's judging you. You're really vulnerable on stage and it can be very frightening at times."
