A runner-up Powerball ticket that was sold in South Pasadena was picked in the multi-state game, and is worth nearly $2.5 million, the California Lottery announced Sunday.

The $2 ticket was sold at the American Premium Gasoline station at 1200 Fair Oaks Ave., at the corner of Monterrey Road, and bears the winning numbers 1, 17, 25, 37 and 44.

That ticket missed the winning Powerball number, 20. No other ticket sold in 44 other states and jurisdictions hit the $317 million jackpot Saturday night. The winning runner-up ticket in South Pasadena is worth $2,479,122.

Lottery officials expect the nationwide Powerball jackpot to grow to about $400 million by the next drawing on Wednesday.

In another California Lottery game, a $194,293 prize was awarded Saturday night to the holder of a Fantasy 5 ticket purchased at The Bottle Shop, 58 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. in Sierra Madre. It bears the numbers 2, 4, 16, and 23.
