Beating the Heat at the South Pas Farmers' Market With Carmela's Ice Cream

It's hard—and still a little early in the day—to say if Thursday's nearly triple-digit heat brought more people out to the South Pasadena Farmers' Market, but that's certainly what the weekly event's organizers advised folks to do.

"With the soaring heat comes higher air conditioning bills," the So Pas Farmers' Market said on its Facebook page, stating the obvious, and then cleverly adding: "Reduce that bill by coming to the cooling shade of our farmer's market where we've got Carmela's Ice Cream and Irene's Los Pipes Snowcones to refresh you."

Patch asked Carmela's what's so special about their ice cream, which, we're told, is on par with Hagen Daz and Ben & Jerry's—only higher quality. Watch the short video for further details.
