Owner of Mamma's Pizza Gets Business Award

Jamie Inzunza was one of 30 women in the San Gabriel Valley honored as a successful businesswoman.

Co-owner of South Pasadena's  Jamie Inzunza was honored by Assemblymember Anthony Portantino, Senator Carol Liu and Assemblymember Mike Gatto at the 13th annual 'Women in Business' luncheon Friday. 

She was one of 30 women in the San Gabriel Valley recognized. 

Inzunza and her husband, Steve, recently opened a second Mamma's location at 311 South Rosemead Boulevard in Pasadena.

Prior to the pizza business, Inzunza started a successful family-owned wholesale sausage company. She also served as Deputy District Director for L.A. County DPSS. 

With a background in social services, Inzunza that she and her husband employ many local students, and look to instill a sense of leadership in them.

"What we like to focus on—usually with young people—is sometimes with their first time, they don't really know what to do or how to behave ... and we usually take that, see what we see in them and build it from there," she said. 

Mamma's Brick Oven was the winner of South Pasadena Patch's Readers' Choice for earlier this year.
