Census figures show that about 8.1 percent of U.S. workers have commutes of 60 minutes or longer — known as long commutes — and nearly 600,000 full-time workers had "megacommutes" of at least 90 minutes and 50 miles.

The average one-way daily commute for workers across the country is 25.5 minutes, and one in four commuters leave their county to work.

Most people leave South Pasadena to work, unfortunately. If I worked at city hall, I'd be putting in the effort to getting the dilapidated southwest business area repopulated. It's a ghost town over there by the Ostrich Farm.

how can a New York news station determine commute time in the LA area? they have enough trouble commuting on their home turf!
