Recall: Don't Jump on That Trampoline!

The trampolines were sold at Sports Authority, and some have faulty legs that can move out of position and puncture the jumping area

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Sportspower trampolines sold at Sports Authority stores nationwide, including in the San Fernando Valley, Westlake Village and throughout the Los Angeles area. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately, the Commission warned this week.

Approximately 23,400 of the 14-foot trampolines were built by Sportspower Ltd. of Hong Kong, and some have faulty legs that can move out of position and puncture the jumping area. These pose a risk of injury, including deep, penetrating puncture wounds, cuts and bruises to children and adults on the trampoline.

No injuries have yet been reported.

The trampolines are 14 feet in diameter and sold with an enclosure net. The trampolines have blue or light blue fabric on the safety matting and enclosure pole sleeves. The model number is marked on the packaging and instruction manual. “Parkside” is printed on the enclosure net.

The trampolines were sold at Sports Authority stores nationwide from April 2007 to May 2012 for about $540.
