Patch Blog: Screening of South Pas Film Friday

'Sweet Old World' was shot in South Pas—this is your last chance to see it before Fall. Come out 7:30 p.m. June 1 to South Pas Library.

I am happy to announce that there will be one more "Sneak Preview" screening of Sweet Old World in South Pasadena before the summer.

The screening, which is co-sponsored by the South Pasadena Public Library, will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 1 in the at 1115 El Centro Street.

The screening is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library. There will be a Q&A with Director David Zeiger (that's me!) and Producer Vangie Griego after the screening.

Those of you who have followed my blogs know that Sweet Old World is my independent feature about a father and son that was shot in South Pas and involves the SPHS Tiger Marching Band along with '10 grad Jacques Colimon, who stars in the film.

Sweet Old World had a resounding premiere at the Atlanta Film Festival in March, where the press called it "A solid portrayal of loss and love between father, son...one of the highlights of the 2012 festival." Critics called Jacques "A gem" and "A mindful young actor who's terrific in his debut."

This is your last chance to see the film before it continues on its festival journey, which may not bring it back to Los Angeles until the Fall.

So please come, be my guest and enjoy the show.
