Chicago Cubs Draft Tigers Alum

Keaton Leach, was taken in the 32nd round of Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft by Chicago.

South Pasadena High School alumnus Keaton Leach has been chosen in the 32nd round of the Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft by the Chicago Cubs.

The right-handed pitcher, a freshman at Glendale Community College, told the Pasadena Sun that he doesn't know yet whether he'll sign with the professional baseball team, but he's truly enjoying the moment.

Leach was the 984th overall draft pick. He told the Pasadena Sun that he'd been watching and hoping all day Saturday, wating for his name to be called. And then it was.

In high school, Leach played two seasons for the Tigers, the article states. During his senior year he earned an All-Rio Hondo League second-team honor.
