Crime Blotter: Burglars Break into Homes, Nab Cash, Jewelry

Burglars pried open rear windows on two homes within days of each other and netted purses, cash and jewelry, according to the South Pasadena Police weekly crime report.

The first burglary occurred in the 1700 block of Monterey, between 10:30 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. on May 18. Two days later, at 1:44 p.m., residents in the 2000 block of Stratford told police unidentified suspects climbed in after prying open a window, and stole the same items: cash, a purse, wallet and jewelry. The opened window activated a burglar alarm.

A witness to the May 18 crime spotted the possible suspects walking down the Monterey victim's driveway. One suspect was described as a woman, 20-29 years old, brown hair with blonde highlights and wearing a razor-back tank top. The man was approximately the same age wearing a baseball cap.
