Holy Family Boys Named CYO Co-Male Athletes of the Year

Check out the list of accomplishments from these student athletes, during their time at Holy Family School.

Daniel Scott and Sean Stephen have been named CYO Co-Male Athletes of the Year, the Holy Family School Athletic Director announced.

The boys were nominated along with Winston Anawalt, said Buzz Cooke. The students attended the CYO banquet on June 2 at Dodger Stadium. The CYO of Los Angeles is the largest middle school sports organization in the United States; with 165 member schools for the 2012-2013 school year, or roughly 15,000 student athletes, he said.

The Boys' Accomplishments

Daniel Scott, who will attend St. Francis High School in La cañada in the fall: 

· Twice named All-CYO for flag football (2012 & 2013)
· All-CYO for basketball
· All-Conference in volleyball
· Finished 14th at the XC Championship and was a member of the 4 x 400 relay team that qualified for the Track Finals in 2012 & 2013
·  4.0 GPA

Sean Stephen, who will also attend St. Francis and is the only athlete who played (and started) on all four of our varsity boys’ teams, as well as the only AoY nominee to also be nominated by an athletic director from another school:

· Starter on the flag football team
· All-CYO Basketball
· Starter on the soccer team
· All-CYO volleyball
· Finished 40th at the XC Championship and was a member of the 4 x 400 relay team that qualified for the Track Finals (2013)
· 3.80 GPA

Nominee Winston Anawalt, who will attend Loyola High in the fall:

· All-CYO for Flag Football
· All-Conference for Boys Basketball
· All-CYO for Soccer
· Finished 19th at the XC Championship, finished fourth at the track finals in the 400, and was a member of the 4 x 400 relay team that qualified for the track finals in 2012 & 2013.
· 4.0 GPA
