South Pas to Hold Memorial Day Service
The City of South Pasadena will host a brief Memorial Day service at the War Memorial Building, located at 435 Fair Oaks Avenue, starting at 9 a.m. on Monday.
Mayor Richard D. Schneider will lead the service. The featured speaker will be James Maddox, a National Service Officer and member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Pasadena, who will remind participants of the meaning of Memorial Day.
South Pasadena Boy Scouts Troop #333, led by Bob McClain, will present the colors, and Desiree Jimenez, City of South Pasadena Deputy City Clerk, will sing the National Anthem.
The War Memorial Building’s Legion Room, which contains artifacts and memorabilia from World War I and II, will be on display. Former Councilmember and Mayor Mike Ten began the annual commemoration in the City in 2004, and he, along with other local officials, have been invited to participate.
Coffee and refreshments will be served.
