Sports Mural to be Unveiled at Orange Grove Park

City officials will unveil the sports-themed art at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Jackie Huang, president of the South Pasadena High School Art Reach, had a vision that has come to life at Orange Grove Park.

Huang wanted to depict sports-themed South Pasadena in a colorful way at a public park. And under her mentor, Terri Roese, she did just that with a mural that will be unveiled Saturday.

Art Reach approached Mayor Richard D. Schneider, M.D., and Mayor Pro Tem Marina Khubesrian, about creating art at a local park. And after many long hours, the mural is complete.

The public is invited to the unveiling, 11 a.m. Orange Grove Park, 815 Mission St., next to the basketball court.

A press release from the City's Community Services Department thanked the Law Office of Jianwei Huang for its financial support of the project, as well as South Pasadena’s Public Works Department for their hard work. Additionally, OSH South Pasadena donated the paint and supplies.
