Where—and How—to Vote on Election Day

Make sure you cast your vote Tuesday—and note that state law allows registered voters to request up to two hours off to vote without losing pay.

Polling for South Pasadena municipal elections scheduled Tuesday, Nov. 5 will take place at six locations in the city from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

According to City Clerk Sally Kilby, the six locations are:

• Prospect Manor, 800 Prospect Ave. (Living Room) 
• South Pasadena Memorial Building, 435 Fair Oaks Ave. (Annex Room)
• Oneonta Congregational Church, 1515 Garfield Ave. (Tower Room/Orange Table and Green Table)
• Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1919 Huntington Dr. (Primary Room)
• Residence, 712 La Portada St. (Family Room)
• Monterey Hills Elementary School, 1624 Via Del Rey (Room 8)

Four South Pasadena residents, including two incumbents, are running for two seats on the city council, and five candidates are running for five seats on the school board. In addition, City Treasurer Gary E. Pia is running unopposed for the post of city treasurer.

The city council candidates are: Councilmember Michael Cacciotti, Councilmember Philip Putnam, Diana Mahmud and Alan Reynolds.

The school board candidates are: Suzie Abajian, current board clerk Elisabeth Eilers, Julie Giulioni, current board member Michele Diane Kipke and Reynaldo Ramirez.

Nearly 1.75 million voters are eligible to participate in Tuesday’s so-called Local and Municipal Consolidated Elections, according to the office of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. There are 519 candidates vying over 114 seats.

The elections are scheduled in 21 cities, 58 school districts, nine county water districts and three other districts, according to the county clerk’s office. There are six city measures and one school district measure.
