Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

All are invited to attend Oneonta's Annual Traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service this Christmas Eve, Monday December 24 at our new time of 5pm in the Sanctuary.

Music for the evening, conducted by Director of Music Steve Hill, will be presented by Oneonta's premiere Chancel Choir and Soloists, the Oneonta Christmas Brass Quartet, The Oneonta Choral Academy Children's Chorus, the Oneonta Hand Bell Team, and Bill Schmidt, organist bringing the power and mystery, warmth and intimacy of the season to our beautifully decorated sanctuary. This unique evening of inspiring and joyful music for the season will include our composer-in-residence, Robert W. Parker's festive opening arrangement of the beloved hymn "O Come All Ye Faithful" and a new brass arrangement of the French Carol "Noel Nouvelet". Oneonta's Brass Choir and Organ will accompany the congregation on familiar Christmas hymns. The Chancel Choir will present Noel Regney and Gloria Shayne's "Do You Hear What I Hear?". And our soloists, Nazani Ashjian and Patrick Blackwell will sing Adolphe Adam's beloved "O Holy Night". The evening will conclude with the tradition of bathing our Sanctuary in beautiful candlelight as we sing "Silent Night" together.

Plan to arrive early as Prelude music featuring organ, brass, and our choirs will begin approximately 10 minutes before the 5pm service.
