THE NIKHIL KORULA BAND TO PERFORM CONCERT AT LAMA COLLEGE FOR MUSIC PROFESSIONALS

Nikhil Korula and his world influenced jam band will perform a special concert at LAMA College For Music Professionals Clinic for aspiring musicians. The group is known for their acoustic-rock sound, blending blues, rock and reggae.The sextet will perform original compositions from their latest CD, Music of theNew Day (available on iTunes), as well as other classic hits showcasing theirdiverse musical influences. The group is also working on a soon to be released EPwith Jeff Coffin and Butch Taylor from the Dave Matthews Band. The event is free however non-students must RSVP by emailing info@lama.edu


Blending the sounds of calypso, rock, reggae, African and Latin grooves, the Nikhil Korula Band has been gathering worldwide attention one fan at a time. From their diverse backgrounds and musical influences, this unique sextet infuses extraordinary musicianship with irresistible dance jams, a combination that has been selling out such iconic venues as the House of Blues, Temple Bar, Knitting Factory and Viper Room. Due to its ever-increasing fan following, this vibrant musical act has traveled all over the world playing festivals, performing on college campuses and jamming at clubs, both big and small. In the 6 years they have been together, the NK Band has been honored to play with some of today’s most accomplished performers as John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Los Lonely Boys, Tim Reynolds, Dave Matthews Band, O.A.R, Page McConnell of PHISH, The Calling, Colin Hay (Men At Work), Les Claypool,Common Sense, the Dan Band and many more. At the time of their inception, a few band members even played in a tribute concert for rock legend Carlos Santana, featuring Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter.
