We Tell Stories

The South Pasadena Public Library invites families to a free theater performance by We Tell Stories on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 7:15 p.m. in the Library Community Room.  We Tell Stories (WTS) will present A Season of Giving, featuring myths, folktales, and literature for the holiday season.  With an iconic, antique steamer trunk on center stage, three actors will weave a world of extraordinary stories using everyday items as costumes and props. Audience members will participate from their seats, then join the actors to play an integral part in every performance. WTS performances offer family entertainment that is both entertaining and culturally enriching.  This program is sponsored by the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library.

We Tell Stories is a multi-ethnic troupe that educates, nurtures, bonds, and strengthens artists and communities by enriching the art and summoning the power of storytelling and theatre.  Their goals are to inspire creativity, enhance literacy, cultivate intercultural awareness and harmony, and spark a love for theatre and the spoken word.  Their stories are original adaptations of classic myths, legends, fairy tales, and literature representing humanity’s collective wisdom made relevant to today’s society.  They elucidate the values of compassion, humor, valor, and responsibility that reflect the universality of the human condition.
