Kiwanis INcredible Duck Race

Kiwanis
Club of Glendale Announces date for the Incredible Duck Splash

October 12, 2013 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at


Verdugo Park is the official date of the Incredible Duck Splash.  The Duck Splash is the largest FUNraiser of
the year for Glendale’s largest service club, raising more than $55,000 per in
year in direct support to local non-profit, schools and community based
organizations.

Each year, Verdugo Park is
Transformed into Lake Glendale where about 17,000 rubber ducks race to the
finish line. Those who attend the event are not only able to see the spectacle


of rubber duckies with sunglasses racing down a rapid river, but have an


opportunity to visit various booths, trying their hand at several games of


chance, all for charity.  1st
place winner will receive $10,000.00, 2nd place winner will receive
$1,000.00 and 3rd place will receive $500.00. Winner does not have
to be present to win.

Each year the Kiwanis Club of
Glendale awards thousands of dollars to non-profit and community based


organizations in Glendale providing services to children in need. In addition


to Kiwanis programs like Car Seat Inspections, Safety Helmet distributions to


First Graders, Fulfill A Dream, Rice and Beans with the Salvation Army, Read


Aloud programs at the Glendale Library, Guest Chef at Ascencia, KKids/ Builders


Clubs /Key Club/Circle K in the Glendale schools and numerous Scholarship


recipients each year, past awardees include Glendale Educational


Foundation, GUSD programs, Glendale Arts/Alex Theatre, Glendale Memorial


Hospital, Glendale Adventist Hospital, the Character and Ethics Project, the


Parks and Open Space Foundation, Cops4Kids, Camp Rosie,  and the Play to


Learn Center, to name just a few.

is an association of conscientious business, civic, professional, educational,


and community leaders who meet regularly for education, inspiration, and


fellowship and to select, plan, and implement projects to improve our


community, with focus on children and youth, elderly, underserved populations,
